Cook Island language week

Cook Island language Week

I learned about Cook Island words; they are a lot of positive words.

On Monday 3 of August , 2020. This morning at school the first: thing I did was line up. In the line there were two people that got in trouble. They had to go for a run on the field and then they went for a run. It was so fun running but at the end of the run I filed my heart and it was beating so Fast.

Next: Room 8 and me had to go for a run as well but not on the field on the court we went for two rounds of run. When I was running I saw Finau , Bobby and Andy then we finished our two rounds of running. After doing two rounds. I was so exhausted. When we went to class the boys had to sit at the front and the girls had to sit at the back

Then: we went to class and learned about Cook Island. There was a greeting. These are all of the Cook Island words that I saw: Kia orana - Hello , Pe’ea koe? - How are you? , Meitaki au - I am fine , Akpe’ea Koe? - How about you? , Meitaki au - I am fine. Then On that day I only said “Kia orana Meitaki au and Pe’ea koe”. Does Cook Island words are so helpful and you can use does words to others.

Finally: Mrs Kumar said to go get your chromebooks then we all went to go get our chromebooks when we got our chromebooks we had to write. The thing we were writing about was Cook Island language Week. When I was doing my writing I already saw people typing and they were typing so fast. They were so focused on their writing and that's when I tried to focus as well but I couldn't.

Matariki Celebration

My first hangi at school.

I am writing about Matariki Celebration. Matariki is all about spending time with your family and having a good time. Matariki is the eldest sister in the cluster; they are actually nine stars. Matariki protects the other stars. Waiti is the youngest sister. The second youngest sister is Waita.

Matariki is a star cluster, not a constellation. Matariki puts the other sister in their space. Room 8 and all of the other classes were making art for Matariki. We made something on our chromebook and we made slides. We had to write facts about Matariki then everyone finished but some of them didn't finish. When we were doing the slides Mrs Lamas was stapling our wishing star in the whole way.

Mrs Lamas made the shape like a M and it stands for Matariki. We started going to the other classes in the middle block. The first class we went to was room 10 , room 11 , room 7 , room 6 , room 2 and 3 then the last class we went to was room 4 when we left we sang a song is Maori and it was macalen

Finally we went to the hall for our hangi and these were the stuff inside chicken , Vegan pumpkin and kumara. Then I only ate the kumada and some pumpkin and some vegetables.

Today this morning was super Cold.

This morning on friday 3 of july , 2020. I was so cold I put some blakcet’s on me. I didn't even feel like getting out of bed. I put socks on me. My fingers were about to get numed I went under the blankets.

Then I was getting ready to go to school. First I put on my school uniform. At first I was going to brush my teeth but then I just wanted to change. When I was going to change I went with the blanket. When I finished changing I went to put on my shoes.

After putting on my shoes I went to my sister to do my hair. I went to brush my teeth. Then we all finished then we were walking to school. When we were walking my bag was so heavy because my shared lunch was in my bag.

Then we ended up at school. I was even cold there but when I went to class it was warm then I wanted to go and play outside at the court I ask Bobby if I can play with the ball then he said yes I was just playing shots then the bell rang then we had to sit down but some of them were standing and my but was wet then mr told us to go to class then we went when we went to class we did learning.

My Mask

                                   My Mask

My first time I've made a mask with a paper towel

On Monday the 25th of May 2020 I made a paper towel mask. Mask is something which people wear to cover their full face or part of their face. People wear masks to protect themselves from the disease or air-bone disease.

I made the mask at Glen Innes School in room 8. I ask Boston if he can help me to make the mask and this is how I made the mask. I folded it like a fan and after that, I folded the sides and it was both of the sides not that big. Then after that, I put the rubber bands on and the color was purple and after that, I stapled and I tried it on and it fit me but after a few minutes, the mask ripped so I made another one.

You can use a mask for going shopping or going to different places and you can make the mask with a bandana too. I felt so happy because I got to make my own mask.
